Peronopsis' Tank of Doom II; Starting a new generation

Hello again all! It's been awhile. A lot happened relating to Triops for me since my last post here. After my first generation of Triops died off, I left the tank to stand for awhile. Lo and behold, soon there were more baby Triops, even though I had not dried out the gravel or provided the recommended amount of light or food.

This happened at least twice, after the last adult Triops died, a new generation would appear. Sadly the phenomenon has ceased, but it was very interesting to me, as I had heard that new hatchings were rare without the proper care for the eggs, such as drying them out or perhaps freezing them for a night.

After that, I tried growing some of Ebay Seller Dadasis' T. newberryi, the Desert Triops. Only one made it to adult hood, but I was very pleased with her. Shy little thing though. Unlike T. longicaudatus, she would flee and hide the second I approached the tank, making getting a good photo of her impossible. But it was a very good experience, she was small and beautifully mottled in color.

My attempts to hatch T. australienses from an Ebay dealer (I forget who), resulted in no hatchings, but it may have been my fault. When I get 'creative' with rearing Triops, like using a bigger tank, my chances of rearing them successfully plummet.

Anyway, I have started the Tank of Doom with a new pack of Toyops Triops. This time I hatched them in a small Siamese Fighting Fish tank, with less water, and trying to be extremely careful about overfeeding.

On the left are my old Anacharis Elodea plants in a mayonnaise jar. To the right is the Betta tank I am hatching the T. longicaudatus in. Then is the Tank of Doom to the right. There is nothing in there but sand, a new crop of Elodea, and some Crystal Geyser brand water.

I seem to have 4-6 little Triops on day 4:)

I had forgotten how exciting and fun raising Triops is! Wish my little ones luck!

How are they doing? I haven't had luck with Aussie either, have tried several times. Maybe it is time to try again...
Do you have Triops that are different than those shown? Please show me!
