Hey everyone! I'm sure many of you have already seen this video on youTube. I found this a few weeks back but didn't remember it until now. I'm not 100% sure if it's real or not, but an interesting idea none the less. Here it is: Radioactive Triops ![]() If anyone one here knows anything about radio frequency, specifically amplitude modulations effect on the radioactivity of potassium, or whether you can extract a radioactive compound by boiling a banana peel, please feel free to enlighten me. I'm curious now. When I'm bored I'll have to do some research. Happy New Year Everybody! |

Hello Neutrino Supreme, I wish you a beautiful spam-less year full of rare Triops and nice people caring for one another. Nice video but a clear trick. I'm not so good in camera and video tricks but I looked at some of the other films on the same site: such as: http://www.destinationcreation.com/informa...-of-card-trick/ If you look good you will notice that the 'whole' that travels over the card is just a black dot (magnetic or iron that's is moved around by the magnet on the back side of the card by his thumb. The disappearance of the original whole is never revealed you only assume this but his finger covers the whole during the time of the trick. notice the moment at the end of the trick you can see the difference in appearance between the black spot that seems to travel and the original whole that is shown again. the magnet and the iron 'whole' are held between his fingers as they slip away from the edge of the card. So I cannot explain the video trick on the Triops but looking at the whole site it is clearly a sympathetic but somehow naive tric site and has nothing to do with science or reality. Hope I didn't spoil your new years mood. Greetings from Belgium H2lo |

Fake although im sure if given the perfect nutrients it might be possible to get a T Long to around 3 inches or so this guy just used very manipulative video editing the 24 hour old triops looked 48 hours old for example, the 7 day triops at least 15 days so he put the wrong dates for the bigger ones it looked like he recorded them in a green screen environment and inserted the background later, and in the cylindrical tank the triops itself was very low quality while everything else looked like it was good quality he also did the same thing when it was in the tub because you could see some parts of the triops magically dissapear when it touched the edges of the tub thats how its fake lol |

I'm always shocked when people thing 2 inches is big for a triops. If you give them enough room in the tank and fresh water changes they get that big easily. Mine do, anyway. |

Definitely a hoax, but still entertaining! I like how it floats above the water in the last scene. I'm still interested in how this person came up with the idea and the science behind it. Just imagine, walking around a pond when, all of the sudden, BAM a triops jumps out and eats your dog! h2lo, that magic trick was pretty entertaining as well. You can see the magnet through the real hole at about :48-:49 second into it. Made me smile and remember the days when I believed everything I saw. Although, I'm still really gullible! Kannachan, Wrod, I have heard of T. cancriformis and T. australiensis getting 10-12 centimeters (4-5 inches). I would not be surprised if, through a proper breeding program that they could become much larger. Just look at all the variations in sizes in domesticated animals, such as dogs and rabbits. Maybe some day, triops will rule the earth! After, previewing this post, I realized that I spend entirely way to much time on the internet! Oh well, to each his own. ~Neutrino Supreme

I love this video even though its fake its nice to see the word of triops is spreading any who I spend like 99% of the time online xD but I honestly think if you where going to do a breeding program for bigger triops it is 100% possible infact compared to fossil records the triops genu has grown alot larger over time its just a matter of un natural selection same way we breed dogs for certain traits given its easier to use triops that breed sexually for this by placing the two largest male and female together and let them breed harvest there eggs and do the same again and again eventually we will get a larger strain with self fertilizing triops simply grow each one on its own and hatch the largest triops eggs the same way it will be very very long but it does work if we could genetically engineer a triops to have a larger growing limit and longer life it be easier
