I'm looking for an aquatic pet that's similar to a triop. Something that's interesting, easy to care for, possibly plays with their food, and can reproduce easily. It has to be freshwater, isn't a millimeter when born, grows bigger than 2 inches, and needs to live for at least a year or longer.

Any ideas? It doesn't have to be a shrimp.

You can get a freshwater crayfish.

They're very boring in my opinion. I also would prefer something that isn't so common. Something that I can show off to people and they'll be like, "WTF is that!".

How about purple vampire crabs :)

...but, they are partially terrestrial so they need a bit of land area.
