Sorry for your loss. Mine often drift to the bottom upside down, and can stay there for a short while, but it's generally because they have a bit of duckweed they've decided is so tasty that they don't care which way up they are, they also scoot about around and up the glass, I'm guessing they're eating algae off it, again they occasionally seem to get a mouthful and briefly loose interest in which way up is. The ones in the video however look a bit more disoriented. Hard to tell what's actually up from a video, best thing to do is get a water test kit, pH ones are cheap (think the last one I got was £3*) and more comprehensive ones aren't much more (<£10* I think, does pH and various other parameters), it takes the guess work out of much of what goes wrong, and it's quite interesting seeing how things are changing, I used to keep quite detailed notes of it, but it seems a bit of a waste buying a new kit every month when things tend to follow a similar path, these days I don't even pH the water before adding it, I know how much pH up sorts my water to neutral, so I'd only check if something went wrong, but the kit is there if it does. *Other currencies are available but the shops round here don't take them so you're getting it in sterling .

this morning, i actually found my other one dead, weird because it was fine yesterday. I figured that the water had a problem so i moved the one doing cartwheel movements into its own dish with spring bottled water (which i always use) i doubt i have any chance for eggs, if aussies are sexual.

i don't think there will be a next try. if my parent cut off the funds to this investment, my triops are done for! |
