Triops Longicaudatus
I recently saw some pet alligators and caimans for sale. i want to get the Cuvier's Dwarf Caiman as they only get up to 5 feet long and are calm for the most part. They don't stress super easily nor are they evil, mean creatures that the media makes em out to be.
Triops :) Gotta love 'em.

no... just a 180 gallon stock tub would do for a baby. a 360 for an adult... like i said they only grow to 5 feet long. not that big really. that would not take up a whole room. gonna have to put a something on top of the tank or it'll come out of its tank and eat the Triops.
Triops :) Gotta love 'em.

Thats cool i thought you would need at least a 500 + for it to be able to turn around, Are they hard to care for? What sort of filters would you need.

They, in fact, are the easiest to care for. They stay quite calm for the most part and the best filter would be a fluval u4. The fluval is quite strong cuz there was a guy who had a 5 foot alligator and it chomped on the fluval and nothing happened to it. of course some gators are stronger than others so it is still possible for them to break em. Note: U MUST CHECK UR STATE'S WILDLIFE RULES AND REGULATIONS TO MAKE SURE THAT KEEPING A CAIMAN, CROCODILE, OR ALLIGATOR IS LEGAL!!!! MOST STATES DO REQUIRE U TO HAVE A PERMIT BUT THERE R A FEW THAT DON'T LIKE MISSOURI AND OHIO.
Triops :) Gotta love 'em.

Okay, my idea.
No textspeak, please. :) It's in the forum rules, if you'd like to check.
"...Whenever you are in doubt, or when the self becomes too much with you, apply the following test. Recall the face of the poorest and the weakest man whom you may have seen, and ask yourself, if the step you contemplate is going to be of any use to him or her... Then you will find your doubts and your self melt away." --Gandhi

Cool stuff i don't think many people will keep them where i live. A fluval u4 is what i use of my 25 gallon puffer fish tank.
