Okay, so i just got some new fish into a recently set up tank, i didnt realise but the pet shop i got them from decided to put 2 males and 2 females, i know that its okay to have more than one male, but the most dominant male keeps well naturally intimidating the other male, the most dominant male is comppletely uninterested in mating, but when i tseperate him into the breeding box the other male goes straight for it, do you think i should return him to the pet shop or keep him in my tank even though he is distressing the others? <_< |

Im not really sure but it's up to you. I would wait and see if they get along better in a day or two, most fish do better with more females to male ratio. They can't damage each other? |

I got another female, they aren't too bad now, still chasing eachother, but i caught the other male mating today, so its all good, im trying to breed them so its not going bad. Theyve had atleast 20 so far, but the females still in the breeder box and having more as we speak ^^ the other two are pregnant aswell, so hoping to get a load more of the little buggers, the guy i bought them off of said if i get them to a decent size he'd buy them back off of me for about half the price i got them for so it'll be keen. i'm gonna be putting triops into the tank soon once they get to a decent size, would put them in now but i just bought a new golden algae eater and they can be quite ferocious when they want too, so i'll wait till there a little bigger ^^ |
