Too bad, I actually threw it away because I couldn't figure out what it was. I would have sent you some.

I just found some! But it's not really very much, just a couple inches long.

I like apples
At first, I thought the plant was a carrageenan, but that wouldn't do for triops, being a sea weed plant :)

largely depends on what you feed them, and if they have recently molted. The speckled one in your profile picture has recently molted. As the new skin grows older, their color will darken.

let me grab some pics of mine, they are fairly dark...

nice :) would you call them green, or are they more brownish? i have had another type i didn't get pics of at all, sort of similar mottling to yours but think it was more black with light beige.

i think yours are supposed to be the typical northern European variety but i still haven't really seen one like that! the ones i have some pics of were brown, no mottling. I think some of the Spanish ones are light green. Bavarian are supposed to be lighter brown with striped bodies. I've seen pictures of yellowish ones too. Simplex are supposed to have light blue speckles sometimes, I half suspect the one I had that i don't have pics of was one of those (without the blue) because it seemed more compact somehow than the brown ones.

i think mine look a lot like the ones originally posted, maybe we got them from the same place.

these brown ones i had last year were from dadasis, i assume they are the ones you can still buy off ebay with the picture of the big blackish one, but mine seemed lighter than that. they didn't have any speckles (what might look like speckles is food floating over top) obviously i didn't get any good pics and will have to try hatching them out again soon :)

the last pic is albinos, they are next to beige longs, the same ones i have going now (of both). thought i'd add the albinos as another colour variation, since we're showing our colours :) i've noticed that some of the pics i've seen of albinos are mottled as well, but i don't think mine were. (but i need better pics of them too). (maybe next weekend if all goes well).
Do you have Triops that are different than those shown? Please show me!

when i first saw the pics, the first one said it was removed, but the rest were all there, now the first one is there, and the rest say "user posted image" with the x in the box and otherwise it's just white.

oh. i guess it was still loading, now they are all there. maybe give it a minute if you find you can't see them.

i thought maybe they looked different on the screen, that's cool, then, they are way different than either of mine that i have seen. i still get mind-boggled by the diversity of these species. i guess it's as they say, each pond will be slightly different than the next. and overall you probably end up with every colour under the rainbow.

can anyone else post ones they've hatched that look different than these?
