Here are two great sites for finding out how good your pet's food actually is, as well as for finding out the best brands out there. Cat Food Reviews (Wet food section coming - soon, hopefully! More on the benefits of wet food can be found at CatInfo.org!) Dog Food Analysis Don't forget to read up on raw diets for your carnivorous pets! It's the best you can give your dog or cat, though it's also not the most convenient thing for you, and it can be pricey - not as expensive as high-quality canned food, but more expensive than high-quality dry food. |

You should try raw meat instead of cooked! It's better for their digestion and such. |

Raw diets include bone; read up on it.

Like I said, read up on it. COOKED bones are definitely bad, but carnivores are designed to eat raw bones from various species, including birds.

side note on dog food; if you have a dog with von willebrand disease, you should be careful using foods with ethoxyquin. my mother used to have a beautiful red doberman that would lose a lot of blood through its stools if it was ever fed food with ethoxyquin. he also couldn't eat bones because a small cut in the mouth would bleed for 30+ hours, but raw meat was otherwise fine. +1 to cooked bones being bad, as they have a tendency to splinter. never had a problem with raw bones though(except the dobie). |
