Okay, my idea.
I'm adopting a cat! My little girl's name is Astrid. She's one year old and black - black adults are the least-adopted demographic, but Astrid's face and personality completely won me over, even if she's not as cute or showy as some other cats.

Here's her Petfinder profile: http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/17682835

I actually wrote that profile for the local chapter of the Humane Society, based on information from the foster home. I really liked what I heard, but at the time, I couldn't adopt. Then when I found out that I could bring a cat with me to the farm, I looked her up again.

I met her two nights ago. I fell in love! :cloud9: I took this picture:

My application's been approved. After I get settled in Indiana, I'm coming back to Kentucky to pick her up!

Aww, she is so cute!!

When I was younger I had a cat that looked just like her... That picture really brought back memories... *sigh*

Actually, so did I. She died from heart failure at age 15 several months ago. :(

So sorry to hear that...

I lost my kitty too, not long ago.. (Not the cat that looked like your new sweety, that cat died a long time ago of old age.) She got hit by a car. It was horrible, and I have decided she was my last cat.. I don't want to have it happen to a second one!

But... No more depressing words from my part...

Your new kitty is adorable! And she's lucky to have you, giving her a good home and all! :D

(Btw, writing this post I got a little insecure about the grammar, but I hope it's not too bad... :P )

Psh, your grammar is fine. The rule is about totally unreadable posts, not little mistakes. I make grammar mistakes all the time, I'm sure.

LOL Ducky, so true;)

LGP I really like your cat:) She's cute.
Also I can't understand why the adult black cats would have trouble finding a home? Those are the one I usually like the most:)

Hope you'll have a great time;)

Most people find them less attractive, less showy. I know I look at a calico, a tortie, and the other more colorful coats before I look at a black cat. I guess there's nothing wrong with thinking they're prettier, but you have to look at their personality when picking a companion... which many people don't.

Holy cow, she's going to be SO spoiled. I bought her a cat run and a window perch. She'll be on high-quality canned and dry grain-free food. I got her a gold-plated ID tag with St. Francis, the patron saint of animals, on it. I bought her the kind of scratching post her foster mom said she likes best. I got her some of her favorite toys, and I'm getting her more tomorrow. :D
